Book Summary - Best Family Ever

"Brooke is the perfect older sister. For that reason, Kari and Ashley work hard to make their parents just as proud of them as they are of Brooke. Each girl has her own talents.

Brooke is an excellent student. Kari is a great soccer player. Ashley, a talented artist. And they are always there for each other.

But when the news comes that Dr. Baxter is moving the family from Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Bloomington, Indiana, and the Baxters need to leave the only home and friends they’ve ever known, no one is happy.

Saying goodbye is hard but the family still has what’s most important—their faith and their love for each other."

My Review

The Baxter Family Children Story, is a sweet, thoughtfully written book about a family of five, who are faced with the difficult prospect of moving to another state.

Told through the eyes of the middle daughters, there are many lighthearted moments, as well as times that they have age-related struggles.

In our opinion these books are geared toward younger readers, between eight and thirteen. The troubles that the characters face, are very age appropriate and there is no heavy subject matter.

Written from a Christian perspective with themes of family, faith, and love run throughout the series.

The written quality is welcoming, and feels young and lively. There are no questionable morals, or themes, and the language is clean throughout. There is some extremely mild romance (crushes, school age teasing) that appear throughout the series, but is hardly worth mentioning.

Final Thoughts.

Extremely well written, and clean series for young readers. A great addition to bookshelves for younger readers, who may not be able to complete or understand YA literature. A definite recommend!

You can find this series available at your local library, or online at Amazon, Christian book.com, and Barnes and Noble.
